In honor of Creative Waco’s Latin Quarter, we spiced things up a bit this past Friday evening! People came out to Anthem to enjoy and celebrate Latin culture with themed music, food, drinks, and decor.
No fiesta is complete without a bit of color, so Anthem donned festive banners and table runners to set the mood. Outside the fiesta continued with Sergio’s Mexican food truck, and then Pokey-O’s as well!
Three local musicians came together to provide an evening of intricate Spanish guitar and fun rhythms. Ricky Bracomontes, Trey Etter, and Travis Tarver (from left) are current Baylor students with a passion for music and the influence it has. The music they provided captured the attention of all ages. Young children were dancing in the space in front of them, parents were laughing and joining in, and everyone was simply having a blast listening to the Latin inspired music they provided.
However, the market was not the only thing Anthem Studios had to offer! On the fourth floor of the Praetorian building we also had The Summer Ellis Fall Launch Party, which was a huge success. From an enthralling live performance by Sam Johnson, to delightful appetizers, and of course a beautiful selection of jewelry; this event had it all. Even if you weren’t able to make it to the party you can still enjoy Summer’s amazing Fall Collection here at Anthem Studios during our market hours. (Tues.-Fri.1:30-5:30; Saturday 10-2) Stop in to peruse all of the gorgeous pieces offered, we promise you won’t regret it!
All in all it was an incredible night here at Anthem Studios! Make sure to join us next First Friday on November 6th as we feature Work at Home Mothers (WAHM) and the works of, potter, Chad Pessarra. We hope that as you get more familiar with First Friday and what Waco has to offer that you will continue to explore downtown Waco in between events, and that you will share your findings with everyone! See you around!
