From live music, handcrafted artwork, and to, yes, a proposal this past First Friday proved to be an exciting way to spend an evening here in Wacotown!
We had one new artist join us this month! Anthem is proud to welcome the incredible Woodburning by Marsha. Marsha, a self-taught artist, has been burning on wood for five years and has recently branched into burning on paper as well. Her artwork features three dimensional shadings and realistic interpretations. As this is a very time consuming process her pieces often take up to 20 hours to complete. Don’t see exactly what you are looking for? She is open for custom orders as well!
You can find her work online at https://www.etsy.com/shop/WoodBurningbyMarsha or you can email her at email@example.com
This First Friday proposal stole our hearts. Guys take note, if you are going to propose to your dream girl there is no better place to do it than under the warm glow of the Hippodrome on a summer night in Waco. This lovely couple did just that and though it was a first for First Friday, we hope it is not the last!
This month also featured the talented Jairus Withrow, a Dallas based musician, whose music blends acoustic sounds and soulful rhythms. His unique sound is sure to draw you in and leave you wanting more.
In case you missed or just can’t get enough, here is a sampling of his work!
After exploring what Downtown Waco has to offer, Wacoans ended their night with some fresh vegetables from The Veggie Van, by World Hunger Relief, and of course with a delicious icecream sandwich from Pokey-O’s. Make sure to join us on October 2nd for our next First Friday event. Let’s just say we are spicing things up this time around!
